The Pharmacist Mentors (TPM) Australia is an organisation that empowers pharmacists through connection, mentorship and learning. We offer mentoring programs, virtual and face to face career networking events, career development workshops and other professional services.
Enhancing your skills and fostering continuous engagement in your pharmacy career is key to achieving your career goals, and at TPM we firmly believe that mentoring can play a pivotal role in taking you from where you are now, to where you want to be.
Every Mentor within the TPM community possesses a unique story, valuable experiences, and an array of skills and tools. Your mentor is able to share this wealth of knowledge to support you in creating the career you've always envisioned.

Hi’ we are Janelle, Laura and Mel
Hi, we are Janelle, Laura, and Mel, three Australian pharmacists with a range of pharmacy experience and backgrounds.
In 2018, Janelle made the leap from community to hospital pharmacy. This change completely transformed her career trajectory. However it wasn’t an easy process, and she soon discovered that there was a need for increased support for pharmacists looking to explore new opportunities and advance their careers. A year later she launched an online mentoring community that served to do just this.
Fast forward a few years and as the demand for mentoring services grew, Janelle realised that she didn’t want to do this alone. She knew that in order to support more pharmacists it would require a mix of skills and experiences. Laura and Mel joined the organisation in 2022. They have a shared vision for providing mentorship within the pharmacy profession and helping pharmacists discover the career path that is right for them.
The three pharmacists launched ‘The Pharmacist Mentors’ (affectionately known as TPM) and now have over 20 specialty mentors within the platform offering mentoring services. .

Why Mentoring?
I founded the Pharmacist Mentors Australia community because while I loved being a Community Pharmacist, I had the desire to explore new opportunities within the pharmacy industry. However, living in a regional area, I found it difficult to connect with pharmacists who could share their experiences and help guide me in the right direction. I spent many of my early career years seeking out mentors, asking questions and piecing together information, hoping it would lead me to career success.
While our profession is rich in advocacy and education, I believe there are still some missing pieces; Community, Connection and Mentorship. I believe that by bringing pharmacists together we can empower one another to take ownership of our careers, and ultimately raise the profile and positivity of the pharmacy profession. Regardless of experience, culture, area of practice or origin of qualification, if you are an Australian pharmacist then you should belong to a community that supports you. Because all pharmacists are worthy of a career that lights them up!
